UK regional finals continue, we have more results...
Glasgow
Magnificent. As the drama of the event unfolded a clear leading group of bartenders emerged after the signature round. Heading into the Honest Drink round consistency was required to take out the title. In the end it was girl power from the Gate that took out all three places to be the first all girl team in the UK Cocktail World Cup.
And there were more rarities:
- Two out of three of the girls had never entered a cocktail competition before but there thought, compsure and professionalism made them a unanimous win.
- There were more fruit and vegetables used on the bar than have ever been used in an entire Glaswegian diet.
The winners: Roseanne Ross, Meesh Reilly, and Ally Turnbull
Leeds
The winners, in no particular order:
- James Hill, Menzel's
- Adam McKenna, Skippy's at Trio
- James Coston, Jake's Bar and Grill
Liverpool
Brief highlights:
- Competition winner Pedro Hunter decided to make his Honest Drink in a mop bucket 'a la classic Pub' and then serve it in some beer glasses. The drink was aptly named 2-4-.
- Homemade Croatian Amaro (bitters) was pivotal in a reworking of the Negroni.
- Drink 'throwing' was also popular, the inspiration of a recent trip to the home of drink 'throwing' in Barcelona: Boadas.
The winners:
- Pedro Hunter
- Neil Sutton
- Laurie Gardiner
