This year the search for Ireland’s best Mixologist to represent Ireland at the 42BELOW Cocktail World Cup was split between Dublin & Cork. Heat 1 took place in cork and Heat 2 in Dublin.
The overall winner form Cork and Dublin automatically made Team Ireland who are joined by the highest runner up from Cork & Dublin heats. The highest runner up came from the Cork heat.
The standard this year was vey high and saw a vast array or ingredients and apparatus being used to impress the judges.
The Judges for the Irish Selection were:

- Nick Murnier – Maitre D Hell’s Kitchen/ Celebrity Chef/ Restaurateur

Heat 1 Cork
The roof top terrace of Suas Bar, Cork was the venue for Heat 1 of the search for the best mixologists to represent Ireland in New Zealand next year at the 42BELOW Cocktail World Cup. 13 entrants battled it out in the glorious sunshine.
The overall winner from Cork was Max La Rocca, who is originally from Italy and now lives and works in the Sheen Falls Hotel, Kenmare, Co Kerry.
Andy Ferreria was runner up in the Cork heat and the overall 3rd highest scoring mixologist in the competition gaining him the 3rd place on team Ireland. Andy is originally from South Africa and now lives and works in Cork. Andy currently works in The Long Island Bar in Cork.
The 13 entrants in Cork represented leading Cocktail Bars, Restaurants and Hotels from Cork and the surrounding counties:

Heat 2 Dublin
The roof top terrace of Solas Bar in Dublin was the venue of the Dublin heat. 19 entrants from all around Dublin battled it out on a sunny September day.
The overall winner from Dublin was Aaron Wall, who currently works in Noo bar and lives in Dublin.
